Hi! Welcome to 3rd grade! My name is Mrs. Cox and I am so excited to be
your child's teacher for the 2023-2024 school year! I am looking forward to
meeting all of my new students on August 7th! We will meet in our class line
on the playground at 8:15 on the first day. I can't wait to get to know each
and every child. This is going to be an amazing year!

*Homework will be given to students on a daily basis and due back to school on the following day.
*All students will receive Binder Reminders which they will refer to nightly for assignments, projects, and many other important communication information.

Please pay attention to the ZPD in order to challenge your child and facilitate growth. Your child should only read books that fall within .5 above and .5 below their ZPD. For example, if your child’s ZPD is 2.5 – 3.5 then they should only read books that fall between 2.0 and 4.0. Exceptions will be made for class read- alouds, books read by the librarian, and if they are in Battle of the Books (BOB). Quizzes that that do not meet the above criteria will not count towards making their goal and will be deleted form their accounts. Additionally, the students must score an 80% or higher on their test in order to accrue points.
