Mrs. Adams' SDC TK-2 Class celebrated Thanksgiving with a class "Friendsgiving"- they were grateful for each other and shared a meal as a class!

Good Afternoon Colony Families,
Happy Spotlight Sunday! Meet Dylan Haynes, a 5th grade student in Mrs. Carter's class. Dylan loves baseball. He likes making plays and hitting the ball hard. He shared that most people don't know how each position in baseball has so many different things to learn. For example, depending on whether a batter is left handed or right handed, he may have to change where he plays and what sides of the bases to be on. He enjoys learning all the different positions. Currently Dylan plays second base and wants to be just like Gavin Lux on the Dodgers. Thanks Dylan for sharing your talent and teaching us a little bit about baseball. You are an amazing Colony Cub! We are super proud of you.
** If your student would like to be featured in a future Spotlight Sunday, please email me at kerry_hackman@etiwanda.org.

Welcome to our second Spotlight Sunday featuring Sarah Chin a 5th grader in Mrs. Morrison's class. Sarah loves to write and has written and published several books. She has done numerous book signings at Barnes and Noble and enjoys meeting her fans. Sarah is very busy as she is also on the Claremont swim team, likes to bike ride, inline skate, learn Chinese and play soccer, clarinet and piano. When asked about her books, Sarah shared that there are many things she likes about writing, but for her, the enjoyment comes from the imagination that spouts from dreaming of fantasies that normally can’t happen in real life. When Sarah gets a brain freeze and doesn't know what to write about she goes out into nature and looks around. She also shared that she doesn't know how many more books she will write, but said the possibilities are endless! Sarah is a pretty amazing 5th grader. We are proud of you Sarah! You are a great Colony Cub.
** If you would like your student featured on a future Spotlight Sunday, please email me.

Twin Day is tomorrow- find a friend, dress like a twin!

Good Evening Colony Families,
We have some pretty amazing and talented Cubs at Colony. Each Sunday, we will be featuring one of our own Cubs in our new Spotlight Sunday.
Meet Matthew Paciulli. Matthew is a 4th grader in Mrs. Leak's class. Matthew races go karts. He races on the outdoor K1 circuit. Matthew likes go kart racing because he can make new friends and gets a lot of trophies. Matthew said that go kart racing is more complicated than you may think. He has won many races and recently won the Tri C Club Race. Way to go Matthew! Colony is very proud of you.
** If you would like your student featured in a future Spotlight Sunday, please email me their name and some pictures.
